About SnapDose
SnapDose was created by someone living with Type 1 Diabetes who understands how mentally demanding everyday carb counting can be.
Managing Type 1 isn't about achieving perfect numbers. It's about making repeated decisions throughout the day — often around food. Research and structured diabetes education consistently show that people with Type 1 make dozens of food-related decisions every day, with carb counting playing a central role at most meals and snacks.
In real life, those decisions rarely happen under ideal conditions. Food isn't always labelled. Portions aren't exact. Meals happen while eating out, travelling, or juggling daily life. Over time, that constant decision-making can lead to fatigue and second-guessing.
SnapDose exists to support those moments.
By taking a photo of a meal, SnapDose provides an educational carb estimate to help users think through food choices in real-world situations. It is designed to support existing carb-counting knowledge and individual care plans — not to replace them.
The aim isn't precision or automation, but confidence and clarity when making everyday decisions.
SnapDose focuses on
- Supporting real-world carb estimation
- Reducing decision fatigue around meals
- Reinforcing learning through everyday use
- Making Type 1 management feel more practical, not more clinical
SnapDose is intentionally simple and accessible, and designed to be usable across different diets, countries, and levels of diabetes technology.
SnapDose provides educational guidance only and is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice and should always be used alongside professional healthcare guidance and individual care plans.
